Land Clearing That Opens Up Lots, Pastures and Acreage

Clearing Ground for Northeast Georgia Landowners

Land clearing removes the trees, brush and debris that keep you from using your land. We clear lots for new homes, open up overgrown pasture and make room on acreage. The goal is ground you can mow, plant, fence or build on. We also work to keep the soil in place while the cover is off.

Weather Tech Roofing is based in Elberton and clears land in Tignall, Lincolnton and Bowman. We also travel to farms, wooded tracts and home sites across Northeast Georgia. Our team clears land for both homes and businesses. One local crew can clear, grind stumps and haul off the debris.

What's Included

What Our Lot Clearing and Brush Clearing Includes

Clearing starts by marking what stays and what goes. We cut unwanted trees, then push out brush, vines and saplings. Most land clearing in Northeast Georgia also means planning for creeks and runoff on rolling ground. Stumps are ground down or dug out, based on how the land will be used.

What Acreage Clearing Gets You and How It Is Done

Room to Build, Graze or Plant

Clearing turns thick woods or brush into open, workable ground. You gain space for a house, a shop, a garden or more pasture. Open land is also easier to walk, mow and keep an eye on. As a local grading company, we clear land like this for homes and businesses.

Sorting Logs, Brush and Stumps

A cleared site leaves a lot of wood behind. Brush and limbs get piled for hauling, and stumps get ground or pulled. Keeping the material sorted makes cleanup faster and leaves fewer scraps in the soil.

Cover Bare Ground Soon After

Freshly cleared ground has no roots holding the soil. Seed, mulch or sod soon after clearing helps keep it from washing in the next storm.

Land We Clear, From Overgrown Pasture to Home Sites

Pasture left alone fills in with briars, vines and young trees. We cut that growth back so you can graze or cut hay again. Wooded home sites get cleared for the house, driveway and yard, with good trees left standing. Old fence lines and farm roads get opened back up so you can get around.

Creeks and wet spots change how we clear. Georgia law generally protects a 25-foot strip of plants along streams. Heavy machines also rut soggy ground, so wet areas wait for drier weather. On slopes, some cover stays in place until grading or seeding is ready.

  • Overgrown pasture that needs to be opened up for grazing or hay
  • Wooded lots that need a cleared spot for a new home
  • Fence lines and field edges choked with brush and vines
  • Commercial sites that need trees and brush removed before grading

What is the difference between land clearing and grubbing?

Clearing removes trees and brush above ground, while grubbing digs out the stumps and roots. Building spots usually need both, but pasture may only need clearing and stump grinding.

Can I keep some trees when clearing my land?

Yes, you choose which trees stay. They get marked before work starts, and machines stay back from their trunks.

How soon can I build after clearing a lot?

Building can start once the site is cleared, grubbed and graded for the pad. Most builds move straight from clearing into grading and pad work.

Is it better to clear land in winter or summer?

Drier months are usually easiest on the ground. Winter clearing works when the soil is firm, but wet clay ruts under heavy machines.

What does land look like right after it is cleared?

Freshly cleared land is open, bare dirt with some ruts and loose soil. Grading, seeding or sod usually comes next to smooth it and hold the soil.
