Roof Replacement From a Bare Deck Up for Homes and Businesses

Replacing Worn Roofs Across Northwest Florida and Coastal Alabama

Our roof replacement service swaps your old, worn roof for a new one. We strip it down to the wood deck and fix any bad boards. Then we build it back up with new flashing, vents and roofing. A full replacement makes sense when a roof is old, sagging or leaking in several places.

We replace roofs from our Pensacola storefront and our Robertsdale location. That includes homes and businesses in Navarre, Milton and across the Alabama and Florida Gulf Coast. Our team brings decades of experience in home roof replacement and new construction roofs. We also replace roofs on offices, retail spaces and warehouses.

Thinking about a new roof? Call us or send a request to talk it through with our team. We keep you informed from the first visit to the final cleanup. We stand behind the products we install and the work we do.

What's Included

What a Full Roof Replacement Includes From Tear-Off to Ridge

Model building codes, like the International Residential Code, call for a tear-off in some cases. That includes a roof that is water-soaked, worn out or already two layers thick. A tear-off means stripping the old roofing down to the wood. A Gulf Coast roof replacement has to stand up to strong sun and hurricane wind.

What a New Roof Installation Gives You, and How It Goes

A Flat, Solid Base for New Roofing

New shingles or panels need a stiff, even deck to lie flat and hold their nails. Warped or soft boards leave humps and weak spots that wind can work loose. Swapping those boards during a replacement gives the new roof sound footing.

Swapping Old Vents and Pipe Jacks

Rusted vents and cracked pipe jacks get replaced during the job. Old ones can leak under a brand-new roof. We also stick to one type of attic exhaust. Mixing a ridge vent with power fans or box vents can pull rain into the attic.

Checking the Attic After the First Hard Rain

After the first heavy rain, take a quick look in the attic with a flashlight. A dry deck and dry insulation show the new flashing is doing its job.

When an Aging Home or Business Roof Is Ready to Come Off

We replace aging shingle roofs on single-family homes and townhomes. Worn-out shingles curl, crack or lose their granules in bare patches. Granules are the sandy grit on top of each shingle. On businesses, we replace roofs on offices, retail spaces and warehouses. Many of those roofs are flat and covered with a membrane, a single waterproof sheet.

The true condition of the deck only shows once the old roof is off. So the amount of wood to replace is confirmed after tear-off. On an old flat roof, the insulation under the membrane is sometimes soaked. That wet insulation comes out and gets replaced before the new membrane goes down. Weather Tech Roofing keeps you informed about any wood or insulation that needs replacing.

  • Shingle roofs with curling, cracked or bald shingles on many slopes
  • Roofs with a soft or sagging deck from long-running leaks
  • Older roofs that already carry two layers of shingles
  • Worn flat membrane roofs on offices, retail spaces and warehouses

What happens if rotted wood is found under my old roof?

We replace the rotted or soft boards before the new roof goes on. The amount is often unknown until the old roof is off. Sound boards stay in place.

Is September a bad time to replace a roof on the Gulf Coast?

September works, but the forecast needs close watching. Mid-September sits at the height of hurricane season. Late spring and early summer give new shingles more warm weeks to seal.

When does an old roof have to be torn off instead of covered over?

An old roof must come off when it is soaked, badly worn or two layers thick. Those are the cases model building codes name. A tear-off also lets us check and fix the deck.

What does a roof replacement contractor replace besides the shingles?

A full job also replaces the underlayment, flashing, drip edge and worn vents. Underlayment is the water barrier sheet over the deck. Drip edge is the metal strip that steers water off the roof edge.

What does reroofing a flat commercial roof involve?

Reroofing a flat roof usually means removing the old membrane and any wet insulation below it. New insulation and a new membrane go down next. For TPO and other flat roofs, we are a Versico Roofing Systems Authorized Contractor.
